Primary Purpose:
Serve as campus attendance officer. Provide assistance to campus administration in enforcing in-campus compulsory attendance laws and resolving in-campus truancy, excessive absences, and tardiness problems.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Clear and valid Texas driver’s license
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of state compulsory attendance laws
Ability to interpret laws, policies, and procedures
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to work effectively with youths and adults
Ability to communicate effectively (verbally)
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Some experience working in a school system (preferred)
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Student Management
- Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules related to student conduct, tardiness and in-school truancy.
- Resolve conflict or confrontation between students and report disturbances to principal or assistant principal.
- Monitor hallways and restrooms during school hours and at after-hours events (as needed).
- Make sure students are attending assigned classes.
Administration
- Notify police, fire department, or other appropriate authority of any situation requiring immediate attention.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality.

Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment
Posture: Prolonged sitting; frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: Work inside and outside; frequent districtwide travel to students’ homes
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; may work prolonged or irregular hours |
